Manure Tea
Compost or manure make an excellent liquid fertilizer. Teas are really easy to make. Just shovel any kind of manure into your 'teabag'-a burlap sack works best- tie it closed and place it in a large bucket or barrel that is filled with water. Cover it and let the bag steep. After several days remove the teabag from the water and mix its contents into the garden soil.
Be sure to dilute the tea left inside the barrel or bucket until it is a very light brown color before applying it to the soil around your plants. During the growing season, use the tea every two weeks. If the soil is dry, drench it with clear water before applying the tea.
